Title: A new 7-eleven location
Post by: Jagsdrew on May 12, 2012, 08:03:55 PM
I overheard a conversation today that the recently closed down Citgo station on San Jose Blvd south of 295 EB will be converted to a 7-eleven. Can anyone confirm this?   @jagsdrew

Is this the one that had the carwash and oil change with it, next to Al's Pizza?  If so, that would come as a shock to me because they are always busy and it sounds like a good indication that a 7-11 could be going in that location, its a prime spot thats always busy.

7/11 has one of those "We're Back" across San Jose Blvd from the Krispy Kreme donut shop. In front of the strip center where Mandarin Ale House is located.

That sign has been there for weeks (ever since they made their initial announcement about coming back).  They used to have one at that little strip mall at San Jose and Beauclerc but it has since been removed (about a month ago).  I have wondered if those "We're Back" signs were posted in potential locations.

Would be interesting to see if they locate one in Yukon, in front of Target, which was one of their first locations back in the day...

The 'We're Back' signs are on Sleiman Enterprises properties.  That doesn't necessarily mean there is a 7-11 going where the sign is.

It will be funny to see how long and how many stores before they build one that takes advantage of the Mobility Fee Moratorium.  I guess it is about time for me to start the sabre rattling again(shout out councilman Lumb). We have got to see to it that sunsets or is done away with even sooner.
