Metro Jacksonville takes a visit to a section of Atlanta that was known as an industrial wasteland of giant metal sheds, abandoned scrap yards and sprawling manufacturing plants in 2001. Known as Inman Park Village, this clustered location of dense infill development now anchors Atlanta's first streetcar suburb: Inman Park.

It appears that site work is underway for a single family attached development on the north side of N. Highland. The first leg of the BeltLine is under construction and adjacent to this area.
All it takes is $$$ and vision.
In this city, they seem to be mutually exclusive more often than not.
Lake, any idea how much money it took to purchase the 21 acres and complete development?
similar to Glenwood Park (profiled last week) one of the best features of this development is how it is tied into the existing community fabric. The new bungalow homes on the south end of the development mimic the ones across the street that have been there for decades.
A new proposal was just announced for the lot across the street from this building. The proposal has 186 apartment units and street level retail.

No I mean directly across N Highland where there is currently a mixture of surface parking and former-industrial buildings that have been made into retail spaces.

Right, between Alta Inman and Elizabeth, bounded by Highland and Lake.
Where Peter Hand offices were. I think someone is looking at Tyler Perry buildings on Krog for redevelopment.
