Title: Confederate Park Construction

Per the Daily Record, there has been a construction permit ($50,000) issued for confederate park. Anybody know what they are planning?

That would be for the renovation of the bathrooms that are just north of the Newnan / Hubbard Bridge on the west side of Hubbard Street

Oh okay I do remember hearing about that awhile back. Werent they putting in a playground as well? Or have they already done that?

Hasn't been installed yet. It's been in the works for years, literally, but ran into a few snags. Still happening, just much slower than anticipated.

Playground construction should begin very soon - they have once again rebid the contract, and will be meeting to approve it THIS WEEK!!!

There were problems with previous bids because contractors did not understand all of the requirements of the bid.  I understand that a more sophisticated contractor was the successful bidder this time, so have high hopes that this project will finally move forward.
