Title: Too many sections?
Post by: Shine on June 10, 2007, 09:49:31 AM
Very happy to see this news group in place.  I would suggest bringing the number of discussion sections down to 5 or so.  Compressed, the discussion will heat up.  Diversity in the same room makes it a party.

Makes sense.  One thing we could do is to condense the "development neighborhoods" section.  How about taking it down to about three.

1. Downtown & The Urban Core (Pre-consolidated Jacksonville)
2. The River City (everything else in Duval County)
3. The First Coast (neighboring counties)

I like that idea.  How soon can it happen?

I don't think it would take too long.  Some of the other sections should probably be merged as well.

We are working on reorganizing the sections.

You might want to include a beaches section.

Beaches was added a few days ago.  Effective today, we have added suburbs & surrounding counties as Child forums of The Burbs forum.  Should clean up the main forum page a bit.

I agree that some of the sections could be combined.  However, I do think that a section related to the Environment or even more specifically the St. Johns River is warranted.  After all, issues related to our environment (and even our river touch) our lives on a daily basis and significantly impact both our economy and quality of life.
