Tim Massett of Sun Ray Cinema has developed a brilliant new film series for the landmark movie theatre in Five Points:  The Talkies.  For each of these events he brings a film star or director in to discuss the movies they made or starred in with Jacksonville audiences.  Already, he has brought in Crispin Glover, This weekend he brings one of America's quirkiest and interesting film makers, John Cameron Mitchell.  Mitchell directed and starred in the cult classic "Hedwig and The Angry Inch" as well as the controversial "Short Bus".  Join us after the jump for the details of this amazing event.

I went on the second night. Technical issues meant I ended up paying $18 to watched projected DVDs. Granted, those still looked better than anything I saw when it was still the 5 Points Theatre. My last visit in the pre-Sun-ray era was to see Certified Copy; what they showed looked like a low-rent YouTube video.

Still, projector problems aside, it was a decent evening. John Cameron Mitchell was a gracious host.
