Whoo hoo!  No more having to cut through the Hyatt parking lot on group rides ;D

I used to work right on the river and every day at lunch, I'd run the length of the river walk.  In my opinion, that's one of the best things about Jacksonville.

I was down there for New Years Eve and noticed the area all opened up.  Eventhough I miss the trees, it made the Riverwalk seem larger and more open.  It seemed easier to navigate through the crowds.

Now just image if there was something worth visiting in that stretch instead of the courthouse's surface parking lot......

No KIDDING!!!!  They should've repurposed the trees and placed them in-between the parking lot and the riverwalk.  At least that way when you're on the riverwalk you would have something half-way decent to look at.

In the least they could've put smaller planter with East Palatka Hollies in them or something, it looks naked. We should try and get some back, at least smaller and not palm trees, that way the amount of weight is less, yet still eye pleasing.

That area can be perfect one day when we get rid of the waterfront parking lot.

I like the new open look.
Now, to get a convention center - or anything - on those surface parking lots.
