Timkin--rule of thumb--never looked at the comments on news4jax, firstcoastnews, or jacksonville.com if you want to maintain ANY good feelings towards the citizens of this city.
+1 And notice that he listed Annie Lytle, Public School #4 first!
No mention of the Riverside Avenue fire station? What? Or perhaps that is doomed to the wrecking ball already....

Actually it is quite enlightening. Shows plainly that they do not care about history. Only themselves.

Sounds great, you should all kiss the bricks. Timken should french kiss the bricks, probably enjoy it as well.
And he mentioned the Walnut Court mothball project:
QuoteBut there is a bright spot in new legislation that eases government regulations on those looking to restore treasured structures.
A 95-year-old Springfield home recently became the first to be “mothballed†under legislation that gives homeowners up to three years to make significant progress on renovations to historic residences. The home had amassed hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines, a punishment certain to drive away even the most determined restorer.
Some have argued the legislation should be repealed, but its benefits to preserving history are already being manifested.
