"Tapa That--Coming Soon!" sign posted on Lomax Street in the storefront of the old Heartworks/Five Points Coffee and Spice space.

A couple of months ago, there was a rumor running wild that Alva's old place was going to become a topless bar... later someone figured out that the original start of the rumor was a misheard "tapas".  heh heh.

Very cool..anyone have more info? I'm a little spoiled by the Tasting Room in St. Aug and 13 Gypsies on Stockton. This place will need to take tapas very seriously if it wants to survive.

Not to get too off topic--but how's Domo doing? I only mention it because it's also a Lomax restaurant that needs to take its product very seriously.

I've had the same conversation with someone; wish it had been recorded.  Me,"There's a tapas bar going into the old 5 Points Coffee space on Lomax."  Them: "How can they allow that in that area."   Me, "All they need is a beer and wine license."  Them: "But I thought they had to be a certain distance from schools and churches."  Me: "No, there are a lot of places like that in the neighborhood."  Them: "You're kidding!  Where?  I didn't know that."  Me:  "??????.  But there are several bars and restaurants in the area."  Them:  "But they're not topless, are they!"

Hmm.  Business idea: a topless tapas bar.  That way, everyone gets what they think they're getting.

Hey, I remember going to a topless donut shop in Portland, Maine, so why not?
