The article lists the demo under the restaurant category. I would liken that to an improvement/upgrade for a new restaurant? Maybe I'm thinking too pie in the sky!
Doesn't make sense. That building has tenants. And there is parking on the other side.
It was purchased a year ago for $156,000. Hopefully something is being planned for the site.
This is a loss for Main Street as it is not within the historic district so we will end up with a non-walk-able structure in place of a cool older truly urban building. Assuming it is not anything but an empty lot for the next decade or so. Code condemned it and kicked everyone out not that long ago so I assume that this is just another example of how well MCCD does in helping people. Cheaper to demo than continue to put up with the harassment from MCCD?
