The guac is made... the beer is cold... chips are out... almost game time. My pick is the Giants. They are the "hot" team right now as the Packers were last year. Hoping for a great game... some decent commercials.
Have fun everyone! :)
My pick is the Pats although I won't be upset (I could care less either way) if the Giants pulled it off.
Let's go coughlin!
Im going with Coughlin and the Giants.
Could careless about who wins...but I guess, for old times sake, 'Go Coughlin!'...
Weird first half... ???
Weird halftime show.
Are you saying it would have benefited from a wardrobe malfunction?
I have seen enough Madonna for a while.
The Budweiser commercial that rapes the Cult's She Sells Sanctuary and turns it into a RAP song is so wrong!
You know what would be really funny? If Tom Coughlin and Jack Del Rio faced off against each other in the next one or one a few years from today.
Coougghhlliinn! They did it! Not a Giants fan, but of course wanted it for Coughlin. He deserves it.

I would have rather see a pretty boob than Madonna stiff dancing. Janet's performs was better on every level, including the nipple gate scandal. ;D
Fantastic Finish! ;D

Tebow time has nothing on Eli Manning Time!
Welker catches the ball and it probably goes the other way.

Weird halftime show.
I got a coupla comments concerning the SB.
Coughlin should be a sure lock for the HOF, Way to go Tom!
Like Deion sez, I believe in Eli!!!!
IMO it was the worst halftime show ever! No crowd special effects to interact with the performances, No pyro, No class(the rapper/singer 'MIA' who sings 'Paper Planes' shot a bird!!!) all of this results in a No go. The Black Eyed Peas caught alotta flak at the SB in Dallas; I wasn't overly wild about it(jusk okay), but IMO Madonna/Cee-Lo/MIA/Nicki Minaj at Indy was far worse.
I'm glad NE's version of 'Mike Thomas's hail mary TD' didn't come to life; It was VERY close though! I'm just now getting my heart from my throat.
Great SB!!!

Honestly the half time shows have been garbage ever since Janet's boob played an appearing act. That half time show was one of the best! I still watch it over and over again now. (not to see her boob I promise ;D ) After that SB, half time shows have been STALE. They are still trying to play it safe I guess.

A game of inches. Welker makes the catch... Manningham only gets one foot down... two plays of an inch or two makes all the difference.
It was a good competitive game but not that exciting to me. I guess it was the "been there, seen that" matchup of two teams that recently played against each other in a super bowl that did it in for me.
^^^Yeah 'not that exciting' is exactly the way to describe a Super Bowl that came down to a near miss hail mary pass at the end. That would be like saying the TEN vs STL Super Bowl (which also came down to a final play) wasn't that exciting. Now, if you were bored with the teams that played in it, that's another issue; Although I couldn't imagine you wouldn't be excited if your Phins beat the Giants 21-17 in the SB with the last play being a Giants close call failed hail mary. To me regardless of what teams play, a 'back & forth' competitive SB with an exciting finish is what it is; I would've said the same thing if BAL/SF would've been in that game(two teams I could care less about BTW) Just my two, sorry to ramble.
Any Pats lost is a good one ,being the SB makes it great. From the Probowl to the SB it was all boring imo.

Yeah, I pretty much described why it wasn't that exciting to me...which boiled down to personal preference. I could have personally cared less about either team and the match up wasn't intriguing enough for me to overcome that. It was sort of like watching the Buffalo Bills go the super bowl four times in a row back in the early 1990s. The first Bills/Giants match up was alright but seeing the same team involved in the game for a few years in a row had me hoping for a matchup not involving Buffalo. Next year I'll hope for both the Giants and Pats to bomb.
On the flip end, if it were the Dolphins or Jags in the game, I would have been glued to the TV even if it ended up being a 6-3 field goal fest. So, my assessment certainly isn't fair yet I never stated it to be.

When I saw Eli ripping a new hole on the clock by burning wildly, I knew the Giants had this one in the bag with the better defense who can get so dirty and disrupt Brady's desperate attempts to get a winning touchdown.
Tom Coughlin and his crew did good job create an environment where Brady would suffer under pressure with all of the factors involved. Look at how Tom Brady flopped out.

Fair enough Lake. It's all good, we all are wired differently. Some (like SFR's Jeff Prosser) think that the 'CAR vs NE' SB is underrated because there was scoring throughout the game, from the first quarter thru the fourth; Although I couldn't tell you what was the signature game winning play in that game (without looking it up); I disagree with these 'scorefest' type games like this being the 'nirvana of SB's' esp with no game ending signature play; I think of games like this as the Arena Bowl with no defense in sight. I'm a big 'game winning signature play' type of guy, regardless if the first quarter and third quarters didn't have any scoring.

Agree at least Manningham could point to a degree of difficulty.

^ Good One
Haha funny stuff NRW. Oh yeah, another thing that I forgot about the SB, Kudos to the officials!!!They did a great job of staying outta the way and letting them play. They were CONSISTENT throughout. They didn't cause the outcome of the game like the knuckleheads in that PIT vs SEA SB disaster. Great job refs!!! 8)
It's gems like that that keep Facebook tolerable.
I agree 100% with you I-10 about the officiating. I was the only one in the room that threw up the safety signal the moment Brady was sacked - and then for the officials to actually call it - pretty awesome moment.
I can't recall the exact ones, but there were a few PI no-calls that were questionable, but as you stated, consistent throughout. I wish they regular season games could start getting called along these lines.

LOL... I was screaming SAFETY at the screen the moment the ball bounced on the ground. I think they missed an interferance call against the Pats. Coughlin sure saw it... Pretty impressed by the official who made the Manningham catch call. That was a tough one in real time...
Paul McCartney in Jax was a great halftime show.
^^^I agree. Although it was in the short lived 'old fart fuddy duddy halftime show era' after the Janet fiasco, it was great. Pyro, great crowd participation, and interaction, the whole nine yards; It seemed like the ENTIRE crowd, old and young filled in 'Hey Jude' as Paul put the mic in the air not saying a word; That's rockin' a crowd! I think that it was underrated. We can say that a Beatle performed in our city's SB, while others have to settle with Madonna, and the Black Eyed Peas. Hahahahaha!!! :)
