Anyone know of this guy?  Brown is appointing him to the Port Authority board.

Anybody?  I have been asking in my sphere of influence and nobody seems to know much about him.

I am genuinely curious about a priest being appointed to one of the most important boards in our city, IMO and genuinely want to know more about him.

What kind of qualifications, or bio, or CV?  Maybe Brown's office could provide one.  Nice to have friends in high places.  Is this a paid position?  I wold think someone with major logistics and planning experience would be good.

He's the pastor of the Sanctuary at Mount Calvary Church in Northwest Jax. In addition to that he does a lot of business consulting and social work focusing on the African American community, especially in the Northside and Northwest. I understand he has been involved with black business groups and the city on Northwest Jax economic development projects with the JEDC. Presumably that's the background Brown wants to tap, rather than his church experience.

Thank you, this is exactly the type of info I was seeking.

So was he involved with the projects stemming from JEDC's Northwest Jacksonville Economic Development Fund, and if so do you know which specific projects he consulted on?

^I don't know exactly what he has done, or anything else about him really, what I heard was secondhand.
