Title: Friends of the LA River: A model for local river advocates
Post by: iloveionia on November 27, 2011, 09:36:52 PM
I read an article recently in a local (Cali) publication about the revitalization and restoration of the 51-mile LA River.  Pocket parks, bike paths, eco tours, clean-up/maintainance, art, murals, new fencing, wetlands, native gardens and on and on and on.  It is inspiring to read about the local and state agency efforts and FoLAR's (non-profit "Friends of the LA River")

The ecosystems along the river are all very different, so each stretch in each community is different.  I enjoy most looking at the pictures.
