Check out my old buildings blog for some fresh Riverside material. I'm no photographer or architect, just a guy who really loves historic neighborhoods. http://mikeshistoricbuildings.blogspot.com/
Mike...
Love all of these old buildings.. My FAVORITE of them is the Castle House that is on the Riverfront. has diamond-shaped glass in each one of the windows. I have never been in the house....but I am sure it is just as stunning inside as outside.
Great Photos!!!
Gorgeous!
Great work as usual! The San Juline is one of my favorites. Thanks for capturing all these details.
Too bad the owners of the Fenimore dont do more to keep it up. Its such an awesome building. That was my first apartment when I first moved to Jacksonville in 1994.
What is the situation with the owner?
Greta photos, by the way.
Its an older couple. They live in all three units on the far right side facing riverside ave. Im sure they just dont realize it needs any work or upkeep.
I lived in the Fenimore too! Loved it. Mrs. Sams gets lots of big offers to buy her place but she will not even speak with them. She loves nature and especially the bugs so she does not want to disturb their environment. She and her yard assistant will even go through the hallways and collect the spiders etc and "free" them outside. I disliked the creepy guy that is her sidekick who loved to go through the apartments when no one was at home, especially the girls. When I complained I was told that "you just remind him of his granddaughter"....uh what?

The Fenimore is such a beautiful apartment building. While I respect the 'loving bugs' and 'loving nature' gig...can't there be some middle ground? A tiny bit of cleanup would go a long way into making that block gorgeous.
Also, any idea how the apartments are in the inside? What the rent is? Any available? Peeked in a few, some look nice, some look terrible. Always figured it's one of those places where no matter how hard you try and how clean you keep your space, you'll have roaches.
Great shots

I don't understand what this means. Are they senile?
Bold move getting so close to the Dozier building. it houses a hedge fund. Very secretive.
