Title: Indian Dinners Are Back
Post by: goldy21 on November 02, 2011, 09:58:03 AM
The owners of Cozy Tea in Five Points confirmed they have a signed lease on the space where Deco Bistro (bleck!) used to be.  If I understood correctly, they're going to move their tea room into that space.  They also confirmed they will be bringing back the Indian dinners 3 or 4 times per week.

Best 5 Points news I've heard in a year.

It is, but moving slowly (not Cozy Tea's fault either  ;) ).

How is it not their fault? Not assigning blame! Just wondering: if it's "not their fault," are you suggesting the dinners are being held at another 5 Points location (i.e. Deco Bistro)? Or, are they being held in Cozy Tea?

The expansion is being held up by the buidling's owner.

Thanks for the info.

Excuse my ignorance, but is the whole 5 Points strip owned by one person? Or, is each unit owned separately?

A little late, but it looks like this is finally happening.  Cozy Tea is moving into the old Metro Diner space and they said that they will have the Indian Dinners on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and then perhaps more nights of the week down the road.

To prepare for its upcoming move, Five Points’ Cozy Tea is closed this week. Owners Kish and Shika Patel plan to open at their new location just two doors down at 1023 Park St. on Wednesday, July 11.

Anyone been to Cozy Tea for the Indian dinners since they started back up again? How does it compare?

Love of God, man, why don't you try somewhere first and report back to us for a change.... ;)

Well, sir, since you asked! Was walking by the place today and say a sign "Starting the Indian dinners Oct. 6"...figured I'd check MetroJax to see if anyone has been since then!!

The food is fantastic!

Went to the tasting at Riverside Wine last week intending to follow-up with dinner at Tapa That, but saw that the Patels were open and went there instead.  Mostly vegetarian dishes with some chicken.  Slightly reduced spice from what we ate in New Dehli, but that is a good thing.

Even though it was their first night open and there had been no advertising, the dining room was just about full.
