Hello Everyone... Please allow me to introduce myself..
My name is Will and I'm a DJ... You have probably heard my work. I handle the music at Everbank Field for the Jaguars on gameday. I also handled the music for the Sharks this past season. I have worked for SiriusXM and locally for Cox radio and Clear Channel until syndication totally killed local radio.
I'm Jacksonville born and bred, Florida A&M Alumni and have been coming to the Metro Jax site for a long time, but never took the time to join.
Even though I travel a lot, and have lived in bigger cities... I love Jacksonville. I have seen it grow with leaps and bounds. My view maybe a bit unique, because I have had the opportunity to experience some of the undertakings.
My dad was one of the first African-American police officers in Jax. (He was in the same police academy class as Nat Glover) and he was also good friends and worked for Ed Austin (R.I.P.).
I'm here and will do my best to comment when I can.
Welcome to the site from another FAMU grad.
Welcome!
Welcome ThisDJ.
Downtown Jacksonville
If you would like to kayak Downtown we'll Make It Happen. Bring the Boombox and we'll rock it! LOL
Nice! Welcome!
Are you behind the decision to play Bro Hymn after scores and during the game? Love it. I think it resonates really well with the crowd.
Welcome!

Love that, they do it at a lot of college games too and people love it
I can't take the credit for changing the TD song to Bro Hymn.. It was the gameday producer's idea.
Hello fellow rattler Lakelander!!!!
You've done a great job over the last few seasons.
Definately need some more Lil John songs this Monday. The defense is gonna have to win this game for us.
Thanks Fieldafm....
I got some Lil Jon ready...
Also, to all the football fans out there I started doing an event this season called FANtastic Fridays the Friday night before every home game. It's a free little mixer type event at the Aloft Tapestry Park (corner of Gate Parkway/Southside blvd).
We usually have Members of The Roar, and alumni Jags players there and we just basically kick off the weekend. Tomorrow night Alumni player Damon Jones aka "Big Sofa" will be there.
Once again.... it's free and we are there from about 8pm-12a if you want to stop by...
QuoteDamon Jones aka "Big Sofa" will be there.
Lol, ask him about his lay down and fake an injury touchdown pass.
Aloft programs their XYZ Bar really well! It's a cool space.

Yes! I think they started playing it towards the end of last season and I'm glad they have continued it this year - it sounds great. I'm surprised it hasn't caught on with the European soccer crowds.
Welcome! I'll have to try to make it out to Aloft on a Fri!
Since it seems you are taking requests.... JK, but what about this one:

We usually get a few song submissions every year, and i will say that each year they get a bit better...
Game day music is a bit tricky.. there is a method to the madness. On average we may only play about :20 seconds of a song, and i don't know if people notice but we really don't play anything when we are on offense. It it's a big play I may play a stinger for about :05 seconds because BIG Play = 1st down and then the whole "move those chains" chant.
I have tried playing songs submitted but when you only have :20 seconds of a song that no one knows it really doesn't get the response we need to put dancing fans up on the jumbotron.
I know it would be a joke right now, but I'm surprised we never play "All I Do Is Win". Maybe we're holding it for next year...or the next?
Where else do you DJ?
Come on Bridges!!!! That was a bad joke.... I actually played it at the end of the Titans game because.... we won.. LOL
I think I'm going to play it during player warm ups on Monday.
Where else do I DJ?? The biggest clubs are Everbank Field (Jags) and The Arena (Sharks).... Seriously, The ALoft (tonight) and I've done other W hotels (they usually all have trendy lobby areas). I travel a lot but honestly The DJ industry has changed and Jax is a bit "behind". I've had several club owners tell me to my face they don't want black DJ's.. Then when they see my resume/one sheet they want to book me..... Not happening..
So I just focus on the corporate stuff: Nike, Direct TV, Puma, NFL.... I did the Jacksonville Magazine "Best of Jax" party last year and they just booked me to do it again.
Play some J-Dash or Fusebox and I'll treat you to an adult beverage
