Title: Downtown Lunch Ideas
Post by: stephenc on October 13, 2011, 11:02:04 AM
I need some quick help everyone. Taking a lady friend out to lunch today and she works near City Hall. I need some ideas of someplace to take her. I'm thinking sandwiches but maybe someplace with some variety on the menu. Thanks guys!!

Take her to the top of the BOA Tower.  Not too much variety on the menu but great views in a unique setting.  Also, the restaurant (Atrium Cafe?) in the bottom floor of the Wells Fargo Center (Independent Square) has a wide variety of sandwiches.  The one in the JEA Tower (Akel's?) does as well.

Magnificat Cafe (Laura and Monroe) is very good.

Olio - Laid back, good food, outside seating.

Akels Deli on Forsyth is really good!  Best tabouli in town IMO.

Lake makes a good point about Skyline Cafe atop the BofA building.  University Club/River Club views, but you can eat lunch for under $10.  I take all of my out of town guests to lunch here just for the view.

Chamblins is a great choice(and close to City Hall), as is Olio on Bay Street.

There are so many great places to choose from. From the 42nd floor of the BofA Tower, to under the gound in a tunnel at Benny's, to the cafeteria style food at FBC, and the Landing has pretty decent places too!

I can't think of the name of the place on the tenth floor of what was the wachovia building but the food is great.

The cafe at Chamblins and Nola are excellent choices right by City Hall. De Real Ting might be something a little different.

Enterprise Center Cafe (10th floor Enterprise tower) and Zodiac are two other ones.

This is a conflict of interest, but we are running a new lunch menu at Chew that we started on Tuesday. I am really proud of it and its the start of the menu for the five points restaurant.

I hear the Winn-Dixie is an excellent dining option.

Word has it they even pressure-washed the parking blocks in their lot, so now you have a place to sit down!

yes Chris...just like Publix, Winn Dixie is a good lunch option...if you ever went in there at that time, you would see plenty of folks getting made to order subs...and still others ordering hot food.

keep in mind...not everyone can spend $115 on lunch at Bistro AIX

Courtyard Cafe has a decent pizza. And the new BBQ place "The Bank" is opening this coming Monday.
