Northeast Florida's newest brewery opens today. Mile Marker Brewing in St. Augustine will hold a soft grand opening beginning at 4 p.m. It brews beer both for its own tap room and for local distribution.

They'll have three beers on tap to start: A Kolsch, a red and an IPA. They're $3.50 and $4 a pint.

Mike Fierro, one of the owners, said their beers should start showing up on draft in St. Augustine bars next week. Bottles probably won't show up in stores until next year. Burkhardt Sales and Service is handling distribution.

The brewery is at 3420 Agricultural Center Drive, that just off Florida 16, just west of Interstate 95. Fierro said that after today, they plan to be open noon to midnight, Tuesday-Sunday.

State law doesn't allow a tap room to serve food, but Fierro said he's negotiating with mobile vendors to set up in the parking lot.
