Title: Alabama v UF
Post by: Dashing Dan on October 02, 2011, 11:36:30 AM
Near the end of the first half, on Brantley's final play of the game, he fumbled the ball.  An Alabama player picked up the ball and ran it into the end zone.  I don't believe that it was counted as a touchdown.  The officials ruled that UF had called for a timeout prior to the play, but on TV there wasn't any indication that a timeout had actually been called.  So what happened?

One of the line judges had blown the play dead when Brantley was on top of the ball.

looking back on it, I'm sure UF would gladly have given up that TD....because on the next play Brantley got hurt and is likely out for quite some time
