Hello to everyone, I was born and raised in Jacksonville 1950 to 1970 when I left town. As a kid, I love to come downtown and wander around the area, love hearing about the history, watching and attending building construction and dedication. To me this city has so much potential, but they never seem to get it together. I had high hopes about the NFL coming to town would start the ball rolling, and for a while it did, till the recession came. But I still love my hometown, hope for the best and throw my 2 cents worth.

Dean, welcome! Did you know that 1 in 5 workers in NE Florida are in some way employed in the medical field? With a growing aging population, and top notch medical facilities, Jax is much stronger than naysayers would have you believe. 20 percent of our local GDP tied to medical, where there is high demand and a growing demand, yet many have become fixated on acquiring 1.2 billion dollars to blow up the river to hopefully add a mere pittance of jobs. In a day when 1.2 billion may take decades to acquire. Welcome!
