Yall probably already saw it on the news. A man at an Ocala ice cream shop was clearly dressed up as a waffled ice cream cone & vanilla ice cream with sprinkles, was mistaken by some(idiots IMO) as a member of the Ku Klux Klan; The staff at the ice cream place said that the costume has hurt business. I'm black, and I wasn't offended by the costume at all. This world has gone way too PC; Even things that aren't controversial, there's people that always will try to make something outta nothing. In the eighties, this wouldn't be thought about as being controversial, in the 2000's of course there's always some race baiters who want to cause an uproar about nothing. Maybe I should drive down there to Ocala for some ice cream.

Greatest thread title ever :)
LOL. He looks like he was headed to a klan rally, abducted by Dairy Queen employees, forcefully stuffed in a waffle cone and dipped upside down in sprinkles against his will. It's amazing what makes the news these days.
where's the picture?

oh boy
Let's say that there is a possibility that this ice cream treat could be mistaken for a member of the Klan. My first question would be, why are thr dude's arms so brown if he is supposedly out there burning crosses in people's lawns? I do not buy the excuse that people could not tell the difference when passing by at 40 miles per hour. Like a previous poster said, all I see is what looks like a waffle cone. I might add that it is a very poorly-designed costume. In my opinion, it implies that this ice cream place is real cheap when it comes to their servings because the ice cream looks pretty weak.
Everyone is pointing out the costume, but no one is mentioning their monthly special, the Grand Wizard Sized All-Vanilla Sundae. Also, their Kreams, Kones, and Kakes section is a little worrisome.
^That sure changes the story. Its hard to imagine someone being that oblivious to the area's history for that many things to just be happenstance.
Just so we're clear. I was joking, although, I haven't actually looked at the menu.
Gotcha. Good one!
My sister went to Washington DC many years ago to work as an intern for Senator Holland. She had never been to Washington before. She arrived at night and took a taxi from the airport to the YWCA. While passing the Washington Monument she remarked to the black taxi driver in her Southern accent, "Why that looks just like a big Ku Klux Klansman with red eyes."
The driver pulled over to the curb, turned around and said to her, "Lady, I've lived in Washington all my life and have never thought of that. I'll never be able to look at it the same way again." He chuckled and shook his head all the way to her destination.
I am not sure how the waffle cone was mistaken for a Knight. But whatever.
I guess it would've helped if the ice cream portion of the costume was more swirly. Of course, considering Burger King got in trouble in the UK a few years ago because a cartoon of swirly ice cream was deemed to look like "Allah" in Arabic if turned sideways, I guess swirly ice cream is just bound to offend somebody.

If that exact scenario ever comes to pass, I hope it does make the news!
I actually found this hilarious. He looks like a KKK member dressed up as a snow cone. LOL
To make it so bad, the owner who is from Puerto Rico, said that she didn't even know what the KKK was.

The intelligent people of the world would be expecting an ice cream treat, unfortunately others think of it more as an ice cream threat. SMH, LMAO.
The costume also makes it look like they are kind of chintzy in giving out sprinkles.
Love the ice cream threat line.
