Title: Old Amsterdam Cafe
Post by: assorted on December 16, 2007, 10:46:25 PM
I heard this weekend that the former owners of First St Grill and the Homestead have bought Amsterdam so maybe now that property will prosper with quality ownership

It's in kind of a bad location, except for when there's something going on at one of the stadiums or the coliseum...hopefully if this is true, then maybe the new owners will be able to breath some life into it.

Well, there is always plenty of parking on non-event nights....so no one can use parking as an issue. I really miss something there.

The biggest issue would be the location being off the beaten path on non-event nights and days.  Nevertheless, hopefully something can work out there.

My family and I used to go to First Street and the Homestead alot. First Street was always great. The Homestead used to be but has gone downhill lately. The food just isn't very good. Hopefully the new place would be more First Street Grille and less Homestead.

We can use another good place to eat, even though it's not what I'd consider downtown...but it's close enough and easy enough to get to...provided it's not game day or some other big event.

"other big event?"  is that what you really think?
