Anyone have any non-traditional sources for IT Job Leads in the area? I have used Dice, Craigslist, Monster and careerbuilder.
I need some leads as well. LOL So I hope you get some replies to this tread
I guess it depends on what kind of IT job you're looking for. I was looking for a new job about a year ago (in IT as well), and I never had any good results from Dice, Monster, etc. Just a lot of spam. My suggestion would be to look at the posted openings of area hospitals and other organizations locally. I ended up getting a job at a local hospital that I had applied for directly. (Healthcare IT is huge right now.) I'd also recommend a locally owned contract company that I was employed with for awhile (if contract/temp is what you're looking for). Send me a PM and I can give you their contact information, if you're interested in that.
Craigslist jobs are a almost comedic...
My friend pulled up their jobs section as a joke when we were hanging out, I never realized that people seriously have ads seeking licensed attorneys at $12/hr and asking doctors or nurse practitioners to write scripts or make housecalls for <$20. It's kind of funny, really. I don't know what people are thinking? In all the other sections, almost every job is either minimum wage or they won't state the salary at all, which means as little as possible. It's nutty. I hope nobody actually responds to that stuff. Or maybe people are that desperate? I think a lot of them must be some kind of scam.
I hired a carpet cleaner off there once, and they sucked. Tried to jack the price once they got to my house, I told them fine, pack it up I'll call someone else on principle even if the price is higher. They backed down, but then the work sucked.

Kam message sent.
Indeed.com has a ton of listings for local IT jobs. Most importantly, they just instituted a policy where they WILL NOT LIST companies positions that discriminate against the unemployed.

I know it's the wrong thread for this comment, but between what I've read about 3L and now this on Vito's...
Vito's Home of the $16 espresso! I was walking through the landing, stopped in and ordered a 4 shot espresso to-go at the bar, she came back and rang up $3.95 x 4 + tax. I turned around and left. No rude comment, no snide remark, just stared at her for about 5 seconds, she stared back so I turned around and left.
I've had food poisoning several times.
Never, when I was eating the food that gave me food poisoning, did I think to myself, "This is going to make me sick".
While eating at Vito's, it did occur to me that perhaps this would be the meal where I saw it coming, but amazingly I came away unscathed.
So, in this regard, Vito's has exceeded my expectations.
I've either never had it, or it's been indistinguishable from a few of my debilitating hangovers. ;D

I agree with this sentiment, Vito's neither hurt nor helped my ulcer.

EI's pretty good, I had a few coworkers from MPS Group (Modis) go over there. They definitely expect you to know your stuff, so be prepared if you hear back. We're talking Microsoft Cert exam style questions during the interview. I forgot which port internet traffic traveled through and they looked at me like I was a friggin n00b. (So ok, I should've known that, but still!)
