Gov. Scott reaches out to Obama White House

Gov. Rick Scott has spent much of his time in the public eye bashing President Barack Obama's administration. But he appears to be taking a new approach. This week, he scheduled phone conversations with White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar and Attorney General Eric Holder.

In an interview Thursday, Scott said the Daley chat was canceled. But he did make nice with Holder and Salazar.

"The goal is to make sure that I let them know that our goal is to figure out how to work together. Hopefully, they have the same goals I do," he said. "Anything we can do to create a working relationship."

He said he and Salazar talked about settling differences related to Everglades restoration.

"I believe we have the same goals," Scott said. "I want to figure out how to do that without lawsuits."
