Congratulations on a wonderful career, Freddy T!  One of the all-time great Jaguars.

I would love them to start him with one play at the begining of the last preseason game. Thanks for all you did for the Jag fans Freddy.

So awesome. It's time for the Pride of the Jaguars to come back.

I hope he is inducted right away into the Pride, with appropriate halftime ceremony; and that this occurs at one of the games for which I will be traveling to Jacksonville this year.

Fred Taylor was definitely a great RB, and I enjoyed watching him play, but IMO that comment that he said about the Jags moving to LA tainted his legacy in Jax far as I'm concerned, and yall can downplay that if yall wanna, but NO Jacksonville guy will ever say what Fred said. I can't imagine Tony Boselli saying something stupid like what Fred said. Saying something bad about the city (Hugh Douglas, K. Barnes among others) is the kiss of death for me.  Mojo is better anyway and IMO replaced Fred in every facet. Sorry to rain on the parade.

It upset me a lot when Fred said that too, and it diminished his legacy in my eyes for some time after that.  But he later clarified on a couple of occasions, pretty calmly and consistently, that his intent was to inspire fence-sitting people to buy tickets and that he did not want the team to be anywhere else but in Jacksonville.  I am sure someone like Boselli would never say that, but I do think Fred's heart is with the Jaguars' staying in Jacksonville forever.  I'm with you completely on guys like Douglas and Barnes and I understand your reaction to Fred's comment.  It was hanging in my mind as I read all the Fred salutes today, even though I've accepted his word as to why he said it.

I hope Jimmy Smith will be inducted into the Pride soon too.  As I understand it, only reason he has been held out is the off-the-field problems he was having.  I hope those are past him, more importantly.

Yeah, I know what you mean.  After I got past the hurt feelings (and as a Jacksonville native it did hurt me inside), I listened to his explanation and I got over it.  Fred has always been one to speak his mind - he never minces words, and I respect that.
