Title: DOG STOLEN: Walnut & 10th
Post by: sheclown on August 29, 2011, 11:41:05 AM

A white woman, named Rhonda, came into the yard at 2021 Walnut Street and stole June Bug our one-eared rescued pit bull mix.

She was on foot with a black man.

We don't know Rhonda, but she told one of the guys who was home at the time, "my name is Rhonda and this is my dog" and then proceeded to grab the dog and walk off with her.

And then he called me.

Apparently, Rhonda lives at 1405 Hubbard and is mentally unstable.  I called JSO and who contacted her landlord.  I will file charges with the state's attorney tomorrow.

(I have since heard that she has moved from that location).

My concern is that June Bug was given to people for fighting.

No fence can hold this dog in.  I've seen her climb over 6 foot fences with ease.  She can unlock any gate with her nose.  If you happen to see her walking down the sidewalk, please call me 449-4340.

More Info:

Rhonda is (apparently) a local misfit with problems who used to have a dog which bore a remarkable resemblance to June.  From what I was told, she took good care of her dog.

My worst fears have abated, somewhat.

I hope your dog is found and OK... or escapes and makes his way back home.

Yes. Got her back with the help of friends and contacts in the neighborhood. Bottom line is that the woman was harmless and cried when we took June away.  And june got what she loves most in the world (after a sweaty face to lick that is) another great adventure

There are some spare dogs in the neighborhood. Tell her to check with SACARC ;) If she likes another one with one ear, half a tail or whatever else, I am sure SACARC got it.

This was June when we found her under our house.  One ear had been cut off.  I have no idea how she got under there.

She's been a handful ever since.

Thanks everyone, for caring and helping.
