It's totally possible here in jax..so many empty lots and abandoned lots...there is so much land that is mowed daily by the city it's nuts..i say turn all of that grass into peppers and tomatoes and cucumbers and collards and cabbage and carrots...

Personally i'd like to see edward waters turned into an ag. school...or trade school....it seems that their grad. rates supports the idea of a fundamental change in the school identity and this city is ripe for an agriculture school.

Aren't they doing something like this at the Jackson Square TOD site on Philips Highway (former site of Jerry Hamm Chevrolet)?

University of Wisconsin turned its state's economy around by becoming "the Dairy State" in the early 1900s.  Starting dairy programs, research, etc. 

It makes sense to use a local college to get involved in urban ag.
