Unmarried couples made up 12 percent of heterosexual couples living together in 2010 in the U.S., according to the Census. That’s a 25 percent increase over the past 10 years.
Meantime, the overall percentage of adults who are married declined â€" down to 54.1 percent in 2010 from 57.3 percent in 2000, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

In the Netherlands it is 20% of heterosexual couples who choose to remain unmarried.
And even though the Netherlands was the first country to allow marriage of homosexual couples ten years ago, 80% of homosexual couples have chosen to remain unmarried.

Marriage is great...as soon as we all realize that we are lucky to have someone put up with us...life is so much better....makes staying together so much nicer. Of course cheaters get their privates cut off..lol.
