Had to work tonight but I did record the game. Congratulations to Shark nation.
Loved every minute of it. Especially seeing the shark players giving a high five to the drunk dude in the first row who bear hugged the force returner on the Kickoff. Priceless!! Can't wait to renew my season tickets.
Sure wish it was that was to make it to the superbowl :P Great news though!I hope they win! If the Jags atleast make the playoffs this year, it will be a great year for football in Jax.
Really not into arena football.. Way too much offense.. Too boring!
^^^ I know right. I love hit them in the mouth defense. Arena football is too soft. So is college football.
Agree - but I've found that I go for the circus atmosphere....... ;) The AFL & NFL are so very different in every possible aspect. Sort of like Wild Adventures in Valdosta vs. Universal Studios in Orlando - both are fun & exciting, but the latter product is certainly more polished & refined.
On the opening kickoff last night a fan in the lower stands leaned over & grabbed the return man from the opposing team around the neck & held up the play - he was not kicked out.....crazy.

Arena Football is worth taking the time to watch and learn. It' just a different game, period. Like a merger of basketball and football almost.
There is defense, but it's different than the NFL. And the way the clock works makes it almost like a chess match. Lot of strategy involved in trying to be that last team holding the ball. Like the NFL, but at twice the speed because scoring takes less time.
Watched it live on NFL network last night... the fan grabbing the kick off returner was classic!
It's all legal in the AFL!!
Go Sharks!! Sucks that we have to travel to Phoenix on a short week though... I sure hope they get rested and are ready for revenge on the Baby Rattles. If you remember they beat us on the opening game of the season.
Should be an amazing game to watch.

Well... the Sharks were penalized and the guy was tossed out of the game... but "fan interaction" is certainly encouraged!
We made it! I hope we win it all. THe upset us last year.
Well I've been to a few Sharks game, certainly different from the NFL, but in a good way. The Sharks add some much needed excitement in the town. I really hope they win. We had great seats for only $8 you cant beat that.
AFL Champs!! A parade down Bay Street and this DT's as good as revitalized!
:D
SHARKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,, WAY TO GO SHARKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Outstanding! :)
A TU blog says there will be a celebration of the Sharks championship victory Tue downtown. Anyone have details about this?
That was one of the better games I've seen in a loooong time! If is wasn't for the kicker missing those 4 field goals it would have been a much more solid win.
I'm already looking forward to next season watching our CHAMPIONSHIP team shooting for the 2fer! Go SHARKS!
Now let's hope this motivates the Jags to bring us home another title to sit next to the Suns' and Sharks' trophys on the city's mantle!
I was very happy to see this! not really a fan of the AFL, but this good news!! Let's see what the Jags can do for us and this will really be a great year for sports in Jacksonville. (although getting to the SB is much more diffuclt than getting to the AB)

Not to mention the fumble on the goal line, and the stop on the 1 yard line (looked like a TD) just before the half. That's a potential 18 point swing. Anyway, I'm glad that we won. Congrats Sharks!

That's a good point. I'd have to argue it's largely due to the Suns' lackluster marketing and promotions and contentment with the status quo. That's as unfortunate for the city as it is for them, as we really ought to have a AAA team in our ballpark by now. Additionally, the Arena Bowl is higher profile than the Southern League championship series, and this mayor is particularly interested in promoting sports (if he's listening, it's about time he started plugging UNF's upcoming basketball season :) ).

And JU's Basketball Team as well as their football team. Might be non-scholly, but still a fun game to watch.
