Title: Mayor Brown, the swimmer
Post by: dougskiles on July 31, 2011, 03:31:40 PM
OK, probably not breaking news, but it was nice to see our mayor at the Cecil Aquatics Center today participating in the River City Swim Championships.  He wasn't there for a photo-op, that I could tell.  His son is on one of the swim teams, and like all swim parents, was required to work some of the shifts - which he did - with no body guards or other entourage.  It says a lot about his character that he is one of us.  I didn't stick around to the end when they have the "over the hill" relay, so I missed seeing him take part in that.  But he did tell me that he was going to do it.  I wonder when the last time was that we had a mayor willing to humble himself like that?

Nice positive story. Thats why I believe that he and along with his sons will experience Hogans Creek for himself and then there will be a big WOW! factor to move Downtown forward.
