Go Florida Libertarians!  Although I wonder if the TSA will theaten to stop all flights to and from Florida like they did with Texas.

On the Road

The Hill, a publication based in Washington D.C., is reporting on its transportation blog that the Libertarian Party in Florida is calling for officials with the Transportation Security Administration to be arrested.

From the Hill:

The Florida Libertarian Party wrote a letter on July 4 to the sheriffs of all 67 counties in the Sunshine State demanding TSA officials at Florida airports be taken into custody for controversial hand searches.

TSA hand searches, commonly referred to as pat-downs, and other airport security techniques are "egregious violations of the United States Constitution," the Libertarian Party said.

Calls to abolish the TSA have become popular among libertarians. And while few Americans agree with everything the Libertarian party espouses, most people have become frustrated with their airport experiences.

But federal officials have defended these techniques as legal, so don't expect them to go away anytime soon.

Some little tidbit about "Search and Seizure" comes to mind.

I believe it is the fourth amendment which authorizes the grope searches.

Pornscans are protected by the fourth as well. VIVA TSA!

Yeah, I was thinking that the fourth amendment was the one that prohibited that kind of crap, but I realize I'm out of touch when it comes to that constitutional stuff.
