Beautiful downtown, well maintained parks - and love the reuse of the historic high school building as an art museum.

Yes, I think that's why they've maintained such a picturesque idea to people - why the tourism is growing and why downtown is really the core of the city and people WANT to live and be downtown ... because it's just so "clean".

there are plans to tame US 41 through downtown...reduce it from 4 lanes to 2 lanes such that the urban fabric can be better connected to the water.

there are also plans for several signalized intersections to be replaced with roundabouts...new urbanist Andres Duany originally proposed 40, but the City has cut that down to much more manageable list of about 5.
