Title: Feedback on the Veracity of a Recent Article about SRG.
Post by: CityLife on May 05, 2011, 01:12:09 PM
Just to add in a few bits of non exaggerated claims.

Louise DeSpain is over 70 years old and was working as SPAR's Executive Director for free. She simply wanted to retire to her hometown of Louisville and was burnt out from years as SPAR's ED. Not saying her tenure was without controversy, but she simply wanted to relax and move back home.

Jennifer Holbrooke's husband was an executive at Modis, which is why they moved back to California. Had nothing to do with Springfield. Their house was recently sold for $299k.

The comments about SPAR being nothing but disgruntled homeowners is pretty funny since I know a few of the new board members are fairly new residents to the neighborhood.

Also, a friend just told me that Lisa Simon has no plans of leaving anytime soon. Maybe Lisa herself can address that, but I'm not sure its really anyone's business anyways.

I've also been told that Mack never wanted to build Section 8 housing. I've spoken with Mack about his desire to build multi-family and he never mentioned anything other than workforce housing/affordable rentals.

peestandingup,

I think the listing price of those lots isn't really what they are asking. I understand that several of the lots (especially the large ones) are being snatched up and are under contract.

Since you were just in a thread complaining about misinformation and exaggerations, lets have a look at your responses, shall we, city life?

First.  On the subject of Lisa Simon and her husband Tony Simon, a former SRG Principal.

With deadgirlsdon'tdance, I was told directly by Lisa Simon herself that Tony had already moved back to NO, and that she would be joining him shortly.  I just spoke with her by phone (she is in tallahassee today following the legislature)

Similarly, Mack Bissette personally spoke with Chris and I about section 8 housing, he brought it up at more than one metrojacksonville board meetings, and he interrupted a luncheon with me, Jim Bailey and Mike Tolbert so that he could drive me around on the East Side and talk about potential developments.

Of course the departure was only about that, CL.  People always abandon commercial property and dissolve holding companies because their husband got relocated, right?  I doubt even you believe that.

Please reprint where this was said.

Your couple of posts are bizarre whitewashings that don't hold up to even the slightest scrutiny.

Have heard this rumor as well, but saw Lisa and Tony at Uptown just a week ago.
