Here we go. One of the last endorsements we were waiting for. The TU is for Alvin Brown.
QuoteFor supporters of Audrey Moran for mayor, the question in the election of May 17 is simple: Which candidate best fits her qualities of leadership, compassion and the ability to rally the city in difficult times?
The answer is clear: Alvin Brown.
Brown has grown during the campaign, gaining confidence and authority as he has met a wide range of citizens.
And in a city that has often been described as "two Jacksonvilles," Brown is best suited to pull the city together.
His opponent, Mike Hogan, appears satisfied to generally stay with a strong base of support. That may be the most politically astute strategy, but major questions remain.
In contrast, Brown has already reached out to the Moran campaign for help in a transition period. And for those who valued the wisdom of former Mayor Ed Austin, it is telling that Austin supported both Moran and Brown.

That's the right call, TU. Alvin Brown is the best choice for Mayor of Jacksonville.
Mike Hogan, although an earnest public servant, is not what we need in terms of leadership at this critical juncture in Jacksonville history.
We need to move this city in a new direction and that's what a vote for Alvin Brown begins to do.
Let's make it happen, Jacksonville. Vote for Alvin Brown.

Just about fell out my chair this morning when I read that TU endorsement and snorted coffee up my nose when reading about the "Meserve" option in the faint endorsement of Taylor over Daniels.
The TU has changed tone over the past few years and now to refuse to endorse the FBC candidate!!! Amazing!
