QuoteOver 450 homes in this Nationally Recognized Historic District have been demolished since this one square mile was declared "historic."
There are 20 homes (more or less "no offical list exists") that are currently on the Formal Track for demolition. These houses are beyond appeal, policy change or the pleading by the neighborhood. These houses will be added to the 450 homes already forever destroyed.
We demand the respect that our district is entitled to and find the demolitions unacceptable. We ask, beg, plead, to revisit the formal track homes and give them a chance at the upcoming mothballing legislation.

Done also. Anything to help.

Done.
And I have a rather more extensive open letter ready to go to COJ GC that addresses the root cause of all this mess, whenever you and gloria have a second. I can fax it, or we can meet at 3 Layers to discuss it. PM me or call me, she has my number.
Posted the link to my Facebook page, so hopefully that gets some more eyes on it.
Would an editorial to the Times-Union be of any help?

ABSOLUTELY!!
Absolutely not trying to steer the thread but would humbly request of all of you to do the same for Annie Lytle School. I will , as sheclown requested , direct a letter of plea to all of the people she mentioned.
This situation in Springfield is imperative , but the loss of any Historic building, Home or otherwise ,needs to stop. We continue to lose them and for no good reason.
I also submit my willingness to help in any way possible for the causes of Springfield and any other areas .
Done!
Jacksonville, please please please pretty please don't turn your back on the very area that save you after the Great Fire of 1901.
