Hopefully the lockout can get fixed and football can be played this season.
This could be a nice little road trip for Jags fans.....Plus Id hate to be alone ha ha ha...but yea the game is a thursday night game. Anyone coming to Atlanta if the season plays?
3 Primetime games on the schedule.
The Jags have two Monday night home games this season (assuming there is a season): October 24 against the Ravens and December 5 against the Chargers. The schedule still looks brutal.
Can't wait. Glad I renewed my tickets!

Schedule is perfect, Del Rio has had so many soft schedules and done less with them. If he wants to prove he belongs, he has to beat the best. I so psyched for the MNF games in Jax. I hope we don't lay a turd like we did against Tennessee.
^^I agree. Last years Monday night was a disaster!
I like the schedule, I like the fact the leage is trying to help us fill the stadium.
But MNF? I hate to be Debbie Downer, but SNF is the game these days, MNF took a huge turn for the worse when ESPN took over. Love me some Al Michaels and getting used to Collinsworth.
QuoteMNF took a huge turn for the worse when ESPN took over.
That is ONLY if you watch MNF, I would hope you will be at the games at Everbank field instead of watching them from somewhere else.
Maybe Atlanta. I'm leaning toward Charlotte right now because I have never been there, and they are probably getting the 1st pick in the draft. Is Cam ready for the NFL?
I will be in Charlotte for sure. Atlanta maybe. There are more Jags fans in ATL than a lot of people realize. I was up there for a wedding in 2007 and found a "Jags bar" to watch the game.

So can I go to Everbank Field and watch the 14 others? #sarcasm
I actually like the schedule. We have some tuff contenders on there, but I like they way they are spread out. These are teams we also teams rarely play. I say that to say this. I think that some teams forget that Jacksonville is actually a physical team and is tuff to beat most time (not all time, wont lie about that one) So teams that are not used to playing us may get a rude awakening. Come on guys, the Jags good years out weigh the bad ones. And to be a 15 year old time I think that is damn good. As long as our defense is fixed and Garrad plays better this year, we will be fine.
Did anyone notice the Colts @ Everbank Field Jan 1, 2012 1pm? The Gator Bowl will be the following day at 1:30pm. Hmmmm...

I could see a scenario in which that might actually be good for ticket sales - having so many additional folks in from out of down with nothing to do (oh, yeah, the Landing ;)).........
I'll bet one adult beverage that we'll see a LSU / Purdue Gator Bowl this year.
Any takers?
The Colts game typically sells out though.
This schedule is a gift from the NFL. The teams we play were decided long ago so complaining about how difficult the schedule is is a waste of time.

If the Jags & Colts are in a battle for the division like last year - this game could get flexed to Sunday night.
Looking at the schedule, we could get out to a fast start. The titans are a mess right now. They have a rookie head coach and no QB (literally). I will almost guarantee a win in week one.
And playing Carolina and Cincinnati early doesn't hurt.

If that happens would they be able to have the stadium ready for the Gator Bowl the next day?
Will it be ready either way? The GBA cannot be happy.

I'm sure they were consulted...perhaps the big bowl games will be played on Saturday December 31st this year
What makes you think that they were consulted? I don't think the NFL gives a Fk about the NCAA.
Do they erect (haha) the temporary seats for the Gator Bowl (like FL/GA)?

because the NFL (and other sports) always consult with the teams/stadiums regarding booked events when making the schedule.

That's great. Do you think that the stadium rep would turn down an event?
I'm not claiming to have anything other than an opinion, but if I KNEW the Gator Bowl was going to be here for the 31st or 1st and the NFL offered me a game a day before or after, I'd make it happen. My bet would be that the GBA was told after the fact - and to make it happen. That's why I suggested LSU / Purdue - Home of the Mannings (LA) v/s Indiana's school - you have a real opportunity to get a lot more people in town for a longer period. The Colts' people coming down with the college people - normally they wouldn't, but now it's a 4 day event.

Not only that, the NFL and Gatorbowl association have contracts with the city and Everbank Field. So I am sure this has all been worked out logistically already. The right knows what the left hand is doing
The same thing happened in 2006. The Jags hosted the Titans on January 1, and Louisville played Virginia Tech the next day (the infamous Marcus Vick stomp game). The GBA managed to pull that game off. If I recall, the Outback Bowl had a similar issue that year, with the Bucs playing a home game the day before. I think the Bucs game may have been at night to boot.

And that Jags-Titans game was a 4 oclock game too. Really a meaningless game but we kicked the crap out of them. The second half was mostly just 60k people chanting "FISHER SUCKS!".
Tennessee vs. Perdue = Sellout x 2

Yes after that MNF beat down, we deserve to put an extra nail in their coffin and get the last laugh. And that MJD stiff arm was the best!!
I'm banking on going to the panthers game, since I've never been to Charlotte and we have family there. Doubt many Jags Fans travel to ATL on a Thursday unless they take Friday off, but I guess you could say the same thing for the panthers game.
As we were dicussing.... It has been announced that the Gator Bowl will be January 2nd, 2012.

forgot all about this thread...This is a 2nd Place schedule. I guess you can say the Jags earned it. We have not actually had a first place schedule since the realignment.

Take some flicks man...but you know you may blend in with the Panther fans their uniforms are not that different from ours or are they??

How does it work for stadiums that used to play baseball & football in Sept Oct?? Sounds like over time for the field crew. People at work is not really a bad thing right??
Trying to buy my tickets for this game now. hopefully its not hard to get 4 together.
We bought ours about a month ago.. 2 rows with 8 together each, 1 with 5 together. You should be ok!
Can't wait!
If you know before the season starts that you want to go to an away game, join the Jaguars Booster Club. I believe they have access to tix for all away games.
