It seems as though Audrey Moran has shared her email list with Alvin Brown.
Not only that, but these emails are strikingly similiar.

I am sitting in call time right now making fundraising calls and just found out we are $1,200 away from meeting our fundraising goal for the period. Can you chip in $10, $20, or $50 right now to help me meet it?
You can contribute now at alvinformayor.com.

I got that same email and was wondering how Alvin got my address.
yep. i have gotten two today asking for money.
There have certainly been rumors of a "big" endorsement for Brown coming next week. Could be.
Like SLY FOX said "Let's go all the way".

the big endorsement I have heard is not Audrey Moran...although I would not be surprised
Bill Clinton?
It defies all logic that in a town with more registered Democrats than Republicans, Brown is considered such a "long shot".
Well... whoever "endorses" Brown, I am very optimistic about his chances.

The real tricky part is getting those registered Democrats to the polls.
Its really too bad that the polls can't go to the voters... Then all they would have to do is simply cast a vote..
I will be at the Polls bright and early. :)
So who is the mystery endorser going to be?
I'm going on a limb and guessing... Wayne Weaver.
^I'll be tickled pink if when it is announced.
Such an endorsement can put him over the top.
A congratulations to the citizens of Jacksonville would be in order, and a call from President Clinton could set our democrats on fire!
Ya.. I'm a registered republican, but one who realizes that any party unchecked will plunder at will.
J'ville could use some intervention about now.

that's too easy...the one I heard will be a bit of a shock
Peyton?
Glen Beck?
well one of those would qualify as completely unbelievably shocking...the other one a bit shocking

I am a progressive who thinks your words are wise about any party. Power corrupts.
I would be shocked if Peyton endorsed Alvin. just shocked
Mayor Peyton would make sense. The Mayor doesn't want to see Mike Hogan destroy his legacy. Can't blame him for that. He should push on through and endorse Brown. Full circle from the defeat of Sheriff Glover 8 years ago.
Councilman Art Shad has already endorsed Alvin Brown, crossing party lines to do so. So, that crowd is inclined to head Alvin's way.
From today's TU:
And yet former (sic) city councilman Art Shad, a Republican who supported Mullaney, said he will be supporting Brown because Hogan is too conservative for him. Shad said he is troubled by Hogan’s complaints that the city residents pay too much in taxes because he believes Jacksonville is one of the cheapest places to live in Florida.
“I don’t feel comfortable supporting a candidate who socially and fiscally is just that far right,†Shad said. “Anyone who runs on a campaign that we’re overtaxed I don’t believe is being intellectually honest.â€

I was quite impressed by Mayor Peyton's speech at the Martin Luther King breakfast. He sounded like he sought to atone for the wrongs that he committed as a candidate and as a mayor. It would be awesome if he would endorse, but I am not sure how it would play out... Perhaps it would be nicer for Peyton to quietly donate some badly needed $$$$ to the Brown campaign.
Hard to imagine it. The Peyton money was with Mullaney. Presumably, that goes to Hogan. But... I don't much see how. John Peyton does not want to be succeeded by Mike Hogan.
John Peyton loathes Mike Hogan
Imagine that...two peas of a pod :)
For the love of Jacksonville, Vote Brown!
-Josh
I just thought of a great campaign slogan:
"What can Brown do for you?"
Pithy... no?

hey..it is all about logistics (i.e., the port & freight) in this town!
I believe there will be a lot of "R" voting discretely for "D" in this race.

If the voter turnout is over 25%...............Mr Brown has a chance! If not, then here we go again with another Republican Administration. I look back over the years and see the things that were not done for the benefit of all of Jacksonville, just the select few and don't wonder why since it is kinda obvious atleast to me! It is time for a change plain and simple!
Well count 2 votes in , here. Me and Ryan.
I spoke with a couple of people within Audrey's campaign over the weekend and they think a full out Audrey endorsement is unlikely. Alvin will be getting a lot of behind the scenes support, but will it be enough??
Gentlemen I concur! The significant other and myself will be voting for Mr Brown! so that makes a total of 4! Now if we can just convince the other 50k needed..........maybe!!
I have contacted the webmaster but am still getting those stupid emails.... if any of you know who is behind Audrey's email list being given to Alvin Brown... please take me OFF your list. It's VERY offensive that my information was given to another candidate like that. I saw nothing on her website that allowed the campaign to do that.
I don't know specifically how it may have happened fieldafm, but several of Audrey's campaign staff have gone to work for Alvin.

Can you mark it as spam and direct it to your spam folder?
Sounds like something weird is going on. I haven't gotten an email (like that) since Friday.
@fieldafm
If you get "very offended" by receiving unwanted emails, or emails from people that got your address through another source, you must get "very offended" quite often. I usually receive 5-10 emails a day from places I didn't necessarily sign up for. I admit it can be a bit annoying, but I just discard them or spam them like I think most people do. Its all part of having an email address, or a physical address for that matter. Since most of Audrey's supporters are likely to move to the Brown camp, it was welcomed by most...and simply discarded by the few others. Its all part of networking, grassroots organizing, campaigning, etc.

Thank you for making unfounded assumptions about me, but this week I have had to replace a very expensive laptop b/c of a computer virus.
Yes, I am very offended by someone giving my personal information to someone else without my consent.
I have put in MANY volunteer hours and donated money in this election... and none of that entitles other people to give my personal information to other people without my consent. I don't care of Audrey supporters(of which I was one) went to work for Momar Ghadafi or Mother Theresa.
Someone's personal information that is NOT publicly accessible is not part of 'grassroots marketing'.
+1 Field.. I feel you man
This is not the first time concerns have been raised about emails and Moran. This piece was by Abel Harding of the TU.
Email from Audrey Campaign Upsets some Leadership Jacksonville Members.

Diane, bad mistake to question Audrey Moran on these emails. I am so disappointed to read your post. by the way, she was for keeping and chartering the ethics commission. Something your candidate opposes. I would leave Audrey alone. She has a very loyal following of some of jacksonville's finest.
I questioned nothing Matt. Simply shared an article from the TU about a similar instance likely a result of an over zealous volunteer in the Moran camp. If you dispute what is in the article than I would take it up with the TU. :)
On another note, did the Moran campaign give their email list to the Brown campaign? Now that is the real question and is not an accusation, just an inquiry.
I would wholeheartedly second you on that, Stephen.
No more defense needed. Bad post Diane.
agreed Matt...Diane is off base on this one!
Aren't the names and addresses, including email, of contributors public record?
Of course, this doesn't apply if someone was a volunteer, and not a contributor.
Names, addresses, and occupations for those contributions in excess of $100. I'm not sure if email addresses are made public anywhere. However, if I have someone's name, there's a safe bet that I can use any number of database services to try and pair that information with other demo information, including email addresses.
If I was in the Brown campaign, I would certainly want it to look like Audrey had shared her lists. But... I haven't seen anything, anywhere confirming that speculation.
Matt, Audrey is no longer in the race and surely doesn't need you to defend her honor. She ran an admirable campaign and conducted herself with grace and honor. She is a strong woman who I would imagine can speak on her own behalf if she is so inclined. Matt, I think you and other Moran supporters are still in defense mode when you don't need to be. Audrey ran a great campaign and no thinking person would say otherwise.
Audrey will be stepping down from her position at Sulzbacher. She's keeping her options open at the moment. On a side note, it came out that if Hogan was elected mayor he would have severely cut city spending to Sulzbacher turning into a daycenter only. Can you imagine what the impact of that would be on the downtown?

my word would be "unspeakable" But mayor Brown will take care of that!
Oh yeah, thars a new sheriff in town!

In have heard from some that this is partly why she stayed so quiet and didn't publicly endorse Alvin....had Hogan been elected, she would have needed to work hard to protect Sulzbacher funding
That makes complete sense.

Stepping down without a place to go???
City Hall is about to put out the Help Wanted sign. She's got some relevant experience...
Team of rivals. Obama did it.
Audrey in City Hall. I like the sound of that :)
