Members of this board may be interested in an upcoming event for IMPACTjax. If you've not yet had the opportunity to hear the Northbank Revitalization proposal, here's your chance, with a great view to boot.
Do you wish our downtown had more bars, restaurants, shops, businesses and residential space? Have you wondered what our business and political leaders are doing to attract more businesses to our city's core? If so, plan to attend "Downtown and Drinks"! Ed Burr, Civic Council member and former Chamber chairman, and Don Shea, Executive Director of the Civic Council, will bring IMPACTjax members up to speed on the latest efforts and proposals for how to revitalize downtown, as well as take your questions and concerns on this critical issue. While participating in this important discussion, grab a cocktail and enjoy a sweeping, bird's eye view of the St. Johns River from the 42nd floor of the Bank of America tower! Skyline Café, our host, will provide a cash bar and complimentary hors d'oeuvres. Don't miss this important event!

I will be there
Sounds cool. I'll try and make it there.
Anyone want to help and see if we can stuff a streetcar up there?
OCKLAWAHA
This is the kind of helpful NEWZ we need-thanks!
Can't wait to see y'all there! It's going to be great.
Newzgrrl, Hope you've got me covered. I called today and they were unaware of the event. The lady took my name and number and she was supposed to get back with me. I didn't get her name. I did mention metrojacksonville. I'd like to make it and hear about what could be Shipyards III.
Saw my councilman tonight at a neighborhood meeting. I mentioned this meeting to him and continue to show him mounting evidence of a conspiracy to just gut the Public Trust from the people of Jacksonville when it comes to economic opportunity and Public Access to our St. Johns River our American Heritage River. Especially within our Downtown Jacksonville Overlay Zoning District.
Shipyards-$36,500,000 taxpayer money gone. 16 acres of Public Space.
Landmar- Promised 680' Downtown Public Pier, 150 slip marina, not one slip for the Public. 16 acres of Public space reduced to 8. Ability to shut down the Riverwalk 12 times each year.
Shipyards III 2010-604 Total Govt. takeover of the entire parcel.
Use the RIVER!
Has anyone in Dist.7 asked Gaffney for any lollipop money for a kayak launch on Hogans Creek next to the Jacksonville Historical Society or the street car line that would hug Beaver St. then continue on city property to the public launch kayak space under the FDOT overpass that is also across from the Jacksonville Historical Society.
Be concerned.
Keep score.
Anyone else going to this in 11 hours and counting?
yes
