Hopefully we can see more projects like this come online.

QuoteFrom quaint homes, eclectic shopping and cozy community, Riverside is the place to explore some of the best that Jacksonville has to offer.
The point of living and working in Riverside is embracing this community to the fullest. An important aspect of RADO and Murtaugh Companies’ design philosophy is creating walkable neighborhoods that cohesively blend commercial and residential development. In the spirit of this philosophy, we are developing The Point..
Located at 2900 College Street, (just before Willow Branch Avenue and the Roosevelt overpass) The Point will be two mixed-use buildings offering twelve office condos on the first floor with twelve two-story townhomes above. Each office condo will have 650 square feet of space. The townhomes will be approximately 1200 square feet with three bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs and a half-bath on the first floor. They will be offered to individuals earning less than $60K annually.
The Point will serve as an entryway to Riverside from the Murray Hill district to the west and a catalyst for development in the area. Just two blocks away, RADO is working on another development called Green on Green. These 10 homes slated for development at the start of 2008 will accent The Point and the surrounding neighborhood.
RADO has been working steadily to revitalize this northernmost quadrant of the Riverside historic district. With continued mindful development, Riverside will remain one of the best communities in Jacksonville.

To make a small correction - there will be 12 units for sale in this development. There are 6 units per building. Each unit is a two story 3 bedroom 2 1/2 bath condo, approx 1200 - 1400 sf each. The ground floor is slated for all office space, though I suppose they could be renovated for retail. Each commercial unit (12 total) varies between 600 and 750 sf, approx. Once it gets off the ground it will be a very nice addition to Riverside. A step in the right direction, to be sure. Let's just hope RADO and Murtaugh Companies maintain their relationship and bring more projects like this to the table. Perhaps eventually we can see some more contemporary designs going up in the area. But that's an argument for another article.
That looks and sounds really nice...and it's needed.
