Good afternoon,
I have grown up in Jacksonville and have seen so many changes since I was a kid. Does anybody remember a burger joint(like Biff Burger) being on the corner of University Blvd. and Beney Road back in the 60's? DavidD
I lived a block from there from 1966 to 2001. I don't remember a burger joint, but maybe that was earlier than 1966. I do remember a Village Oven diner, Tropicana Apartments, gas station, and a closed car-wash. There was a ice cream parlor at the end of the spot where Winn Dixie was prior to taking over the old Pic 'n Save. And across the street where the CVS is now, there was a little office building if I remember rightly, with a State Farm agent, and behind that a small church.
Thank you for your reply. I remember all the locations you mentioned and visited all of them. I was pretty young, so it could have been before 1966. We used to always go to Krystals and load up on burgers before we went to the drive-in!! I looked on the Biff Burger website, and they said there was one over by lone star and arlington road, but I don't think we would have gone over there. I grew up over by Wolfson and my mom still lives in the same house. David
