I read the intriguing cover story in Folio Weekly about a Ponte Vedra businessman whom has quite a history. I wonder if any Metrojacksonville readers have had any interactiosn with him?
QuoteThe article seemed poorly sourced and lacking in much substance
And thats not surprising, lol
There's a brief article in today's biz journal as well.
He used to publish a magazine a few years back and stiffed A LOT of writers, including me. Sleaze ball.

How do you mean, showdogpro? That seems a bit vague.
I wrote a number of articles over the span of several months, and EVERY month, I had to call and ask where my check was. They'd act like I was bothering them by calling and asking for my money and would give me the run around for a couple of days. Eventually, I would get paid but at least a month late. One time, they never paid, but continued to give me assignments. I already got screwed out of one month's pay; I wasn't about to do it again, so I told him I wasn't writing any more articles until he paid me. I sent several follow-up letters, but I never got my money. He did the same thing to other writers, I've heard. He took advantage of people who didn't have the luxury of waiting around for months to get paid (or not get paid AT ALL). People who don't pay their bills are scumbags in my book.
Are you currently writing for Folio?
