I was digging through the archives, but wasn't sure where the final design ever landed for Brooklyn Park - is/was this private development?  Looks like the undertaking has some substance in the photos.

The work in Brooklyn revolves around burying pipes and creating the anticipated ampitheatre.
Has work on Olio stopped?  I have passed by a few times in the last couple of months and it looks like the previous work has been halted.

Work on Olio seems to have started back up after being delayed for a couple of months.  Here is a rendering of what the final park space is supposed to look like on the corner of Forest & Riverside.

It looks like a lot of projects are nearing completion. Baptist, Brooklyn Park, Friendship Park, and San Marco Streetscape are the only ones that are a long way from finishing exterior work.  I know the courthouse and John Gorrie are far from done, but most of the work from here on will be interior.

Does anyone know when the building next to Farah & Farah will start getting attention again? What will it become? I have an idea, Let's make a downtown school. All major cities have an "inner city school systems". Or perhaps it can be home to the school board.

I don't know if Urbaknight's suggestion was sarcastic, but I would say that La Villa school of the arts was the district's attempt to create an urban school...The only problem is they forgot that they weren't building on the Southside and instead of integrating the campus they surrounded it with lawns and fences, isolating it. No doubt the thought behind the barrier was safety, but if it was going to turn out that way they should've just put it in the burbs. And also the school board already has a really nice building on prime, riverfront real estate. I don't think they'd want to cram themselves into the heart of the core.

Btw, I noticed this morning that the Shipyards fence has been torn down.  I guess its safe to assume its a publicly accessible green space at this point.

I noticed a sign at the floating dock. Don't think it was a political one.
Could it be a Welcome sign?

No, I really thought it would be a good idea. I was unaware of the La Villa school of the Arts.

They sure did a good job suburbanizing it. (that was sarcasm)

Is what you call "Downtown Northbank" LaVilla?  And the courthouse is built in what was once LaVilla?

The historical dividing line between LaVilla and the Northbank was the block between Broad and Clay Streets.  So a western most piece of the courthouse super block falls into what was historically known as LaVilla.

Took a trip down Stockton yesterday to get some peanut butter pie at Bakery Moderne (yum) and noticed that ugly 50s building on the John Gorrie site was being torn down. Yea!!! Bulldozers were buzzing. Now you have a nice view of the old school from Stockton Street. Thank you again to the Weavers!

I asked this on another thread; I heard that they will be putting in retail that mirrors what is already across Stockton.  Is there any truth to this??  Is there going to be any retail component to John Gorrie??

The retail on Stockton has really improved lately, but I feel like it lacks the concentration of complementing uses to ever go beyond the state it is at right now.

I think the current commercial mix is great.  Add in the residents at John Gorrie and that commercial strip is going to have all the foot traffic it needs.  Maybe even the old Skinners Dairy storefront will actually stop being a revolving door and the stop n shop next door will be cleaned up and be an attractive commercial front now that the only foot traffic it experiences will no longer be buying loosies and 16 oz beer cans.

Was Pop's Diner the reason for the patchouli smell in the area before 13g opened up?

If so, he needs another storefront, too.  I used to remember that corner more from the smell of it, than from the looks of it.

The John Gorrie School should have pricing available by next week. Wes Dailey is the sight agent with Prudential Network Realty. Lake, Ock, Stephen, he would love to have you come in and take pictures of what has been transformed. You can contact him next week to set up a meeting. Who knows, maybe Mrs. Weaver may be there when you visit.
