Post by: fsujax on March 02, 2011, 10:54:19 AM
Some good news for the neighborhood.

via the Daily Record.

The first area Wells Fargo prototype branch will be unveiled Thursday when it reopens its renovated Wachovia office in Historic Springfield at 1601 N. Main St. Additional work is under way for a new corporate training facility at the site. The reopening event is planned 5-6:30 p.m. Wells Fargo bought Wachovia and is putting up the new name on area locations.

I was just posting about his in another section. I am VERY happy about this. The springfield location is one of the largest branchest that we have, and it good to see its being put to use in an area that needs a facelift. I ca not wait to see the finished product.

Look for the historic mural they are going to put up in the window. Metro Jacksonville supplied the photographs for it.

As the year goes on, there will be at least eight other Wells Fargo stores across the city with historic murals from photographs supplied by MJ.

Sounds like your in the WF family? Anyway, and again, we need to let the artist know that the Main Street line of the JACKSONVILLE TRACTION COMPANY was once considered "The Most Beautiful Streetcar Line In The World!" Though I have seen literally dozens of versions of the classic landscaped route on old postcards and photo files, I have yet to see one with a streetcar close enough to the camera to make out much detail.

From my understanding, the mural will be installed in front of this window and lit up from the street at night.

Should make it standout from the other banks for good and bad reasons!
