According to the TU, "Teabagger" is now a curse word that will result in a warning from TU's moderators.
Unbelievable.

Hello, allstars-
We have a huge curse word filter for Jacksonville.com. It contains every curse word you can think of, some you'd never guess, and various spellings for all.
While such a filter is great for tracking and keeping out all unwanted language, there are always a few words that will slip by. Here's the latest.
Teabagger.
That word has become very popular in the last few weeks, and this is the official notice that using that word will get you a warning email from our moderators. And of course, four warnings equals a ban from the site.
So please, refrain from using the t-word. If you need to refer to a member of the Tea Party, say it just like that. "A member of the Tea Party." If you need a more derogatory word, take a deep breath - and don't.
Thanks, please comment or email with any questions.

I will just continue to refer to members of the Tea Party as I always have: racists.
Hahahahahahahaha! This is hilarious. Finest prime steak right there! There's always a way to get around.
Rules are made to bend.

Clearly they're all racists. ::)
It's probably viewed as offensive because of the alternate, sexually-oriented (and usually derogatory) meaning of the word.

It's sad but I've seen it so many times and it's becoming appropriate for them...they are still pissed off that we have a black president....
Thankfully some web sites are taking a stand against offensive slurs. Perhaps this one won't be far behind.

In order to be an offensive slur, someone has to be offended. Who is offended?

offensive slurs?
This is what the teabaggers originally called themselves, until someone of the left finally pointed out to these clueless people that the term also meant something else.
Its nobody else's fault that they were ever called teabaggers in the first place.
Haha! Oops.

I heard Rachel Maddow mention this. Helps prove these people have no actual sense of reality.
How about banning the word Obama-care or any unprovoked Obama bashing on the TU as well?
Example headline: New Restaurant Opens in Riverside
(one paragraph summary of new restaurant)
Comments: yeah well because of Obama and the taxes and the liberals and the gays i can't afford to gas up anymore! Obama-care’s ruining our country!â€
I’m just saying…fair is fair!
I've suggested that they similarly banish anyone who uses the term "Socialist" to refer to Democrats.

Seems inaccurate. There were no words spelled incorrectly.

And it's even "apostrophe'd" correctly. Even more telling.
I hope that the Times-Union moderators also scold those who carp about wanting to 'take our country back.'
