Title: Historic Springfield Community Cookbook
Post by: iloveionia on February 16, 2011, 10:30:44 PM
Preservation SOS is embarking on a fundraiser. Something kind of fun, useful, and positive for our neighborhood.

Yup, a Neighborhood Cookbook.
How cool is that?

The first step is to collect recipes.
Here are the catagories:

1. Appetizers and Beverages
2. Soups and Salads
3. Vegetables and Side Dishes
4. Main Dishes
5. Breads and Rolls
6. Desserts
7. Cookies and Candy
8. This and That

Some of you I will hunt down if you don't submit on your own. We all know there are lots of great cooks in the hood. I need to collect 150 recipes to make this work. And they should be from residents, businesses, or honorary members of the hood.

Please help support our efforts of preservation and beautification by submitting a recipe or two or three to:
preservationsos@yahoo.com

The goal is to have the book complete in the fall. Ready for the December Holiday Tour, ready for Thanksgiving and ready for Christmas.

The Neighborhood Cookbook will be sold for $10 pre-sale and $12 thereafter. 100% of the profits will be directed to Make it Happen and Beautification Projects for our neighbors and blocks in need.

May non-Springfielders, or for that matter, non-Jaxsons, submit a recipe?  If not, I'd still be glad to buy a cookbook or two!
