Team Recovery, as a fund-raising event, is presenting "Ides of March Trash A-Thon" an opportunity to clean up the west side of Springfield and to help support an important and vibrant non-profit in the community.
For a week in mid March, we will collect trash focusing primarily on the West side, alleys and streets (and perhaps parks) and stack the pile near the shop for pick up.
What we are asking is a pledge of support -- an amount per bag of trash collected.
Last time we collected 120 bags.
All donations are tax deductible as Team Recovery is the dba for Barbara and Grace, Inc. a 501 (c) 3 corporation.

The west side is much cleaner than the east side btw. Just sayin' We picked up 120 bags on the east side and so far only 17 bags on the west side. We will see what tomorrow brings, but we may head across Main Street and hit the east side again if we finish the west side.
City Houses is going to send some workers tomorrow too. I've signed up for a week of trash removal, so we'll see what we can do. We had six men working today. They started at 9:00 and finished at 4:00. This is really good for them as well. There is fresh air and exercise and the feeling of accomplishment. This goes a long way toward physical and emotional well being.

Our total is now 30 bags! We have one more day on the West side and then on Friday the focus will be on Main Street. Saturday we will help Joan out on Ionia and begin working the east side again.
The guys are really doing this themselves. I'm busy hanging sheetrock and leaving them to do it.
Sometimes I want to kick them in the butt and sometimes they really make me proud.
