Title: Gary Gale Airport
Post by: videojon on February 10, 2011, 10:29:55 PM
I was noticing just north of the west end of the Buckman Bridge, Google Maps displays "Gary Gale". Apparently it's a seaplane Base. Does anyone know how often this is used? On Google satellite view, you can see something in the water but am not sure if that's related.

Is that on the property where the homeowner dredged his own channel that also has a helo pad on property, etc?

That's the dude that gave so much cash to UF they renamed a major road after him (North South).

There used to be a seaplane out there on the end of one of those docks years ago, saw it when I was a kid driving through Jax a lot.
