Title: 100 Most Influencial
Post by: ronchamblin on January 30, 2011, 01:32:51 PM
I ran across an addition of Michael  H. Hart’s book titled “The 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History”.  I thought it interesting.  The author also explains why each one was chosen and placed in a particular ranking.  Some Christians might wonder about the choice of Muhammad as being number one on the list.  Here are the first twenty.  Keep in mind that the below list is from the opinion of one individual, Mr. Hart, perhaps with input from some others:
1.   Muhammad                                                               11.  Karl Marx
2.   Isaac Newton                                                           12.  Louis Pasteur
3.   Jesus Christ                                                              13.  Galileo Galilei
4.   Buddha                                                                    14.  Aristotle
5.   Confucius                                                                 15.  Lenin
6.   St. Paul                                                                   16.  Moses
7.   Ts’ai lun                                                                   17.  Charles Darwin
8.   Johann Gutenberg                                                      18.  Stephen Dare
9.   Christopher Columbus                                                 19.  Augustus Caesar
10.   Albert Einstein                                                           20.  Mao Tse-tung

Number 18 is spot on, if not even a little low for him.  Interesting list.  Moses doesn't really get much respect.
