weird request, but does anyone know where to get some really good salads in jacksonville?
(my girlfriend is in the mood)
i know the aixoise salad at aix is amazing...
trying to branch out though. want something filling enough for lunch, or at least a place with enough options for two...
Metro Diner: Pittsburgh salad. Best salad in Jax, and healthy because it's a salad.
(Pittsburgh Steak Salad: A hearty garden salad topped with a generous portion of rib-eye steak, french fries & blue cheese crumbles.)

i'm assuming this is a half joke? if so, hysterical
"healthy because it's a salad"....then, "rib-eye steak, french fries, blue cheese"
;D

The Shops of Avondale:
The Brick- Spinach salad
Biscottis-Goat Cheese salad
Casbah- Tuna Sald offerings, grape leaves et al
Wendy's in 5-Points - Garden Side Salad w/ Ranch
BB's Cobb salad is awesome. Just be prepared for the large side of attitude from some of their wait staff...
A recent favorite of mine is at Blackfinn.
Mixed greens with strawberries, goat cheese, dried cherries, candied pecans, and a strawberry vinagrette.
Beet salad at Taverna is yummy (try it even if you think you don't like beets!)
I had a surprisingly good chicken Caesar salad at The Casbah last night. The chicken was excellent and they use pita chips instead of croutons. The price was a bit surprising too, unfortunately, $11.95. I'd say it was more of a 9 dollar salad, but maybe I'm cheap when it comes to my greens.
Moon River Gorganzola FTW

Just close the thread right now.
I really like the chopped salad at Chart House (romaine, radishes, cucumbers, pepperoncinis, artichokes, and balsamic vinaigrette if I remember right).
Not a weird request at all, this question of salad! Great review! Yes-the Chart House!
Uptown Market does great salads... and they're super nice if you want to invent your own ^.^
Fried Green Tomato Salad at Uptown -YUMMY
Oooh, I was looking for a place where I could post the review I promised earlier.
Anyway, I think you'd love Tossgreen salad bar. I recently heard about them and I have no doubt that place is the best salad bar in Jacksonville. They get most of their products from local farms and chop it all up right in front of you. The end product is fresh salads that taste good.
There's a lot of choices of products, even dressings (more than 15 dressings IIRC).
It tastes delicious, I enjoyed it. The price is pretty good too for what you're getting, no complaints there.
The only thing I'd add is that I wish it was closer to my house (it's on Southside) but it's worth a stop if you're around the area.
Edit: I realized I wrote an essay so I edited and made it short :)
Moon River has a great Greek salad too!
