I can't say this is a joke because this almost did happen a few years ago. If all of a sudden all the banks disappeared, collapsed, and suddenly everybody's bank account read $0. What would you do?
Would you keep going to work even if you know you won't get paid? Would you give your products/goods/service/fruits/vegetables to others even if you know you might not make a single cent? Would you basically work for "free"?
Or are the doomsday predictions correct and everyone would suddenly just "refuse to work" or "quit working" and sit down in their chair doing absolutely nothing till the next new money appeared again?
technology exists for us to experience a true balance in life on this spinning rock.
we can grow enough food to feed everyone.
we have empty homes in disrepair and people with no homes who need work.
to work for sustenance and covering is fair.
to selfishly hoard and wastefully squander is unfortunately the disgusting reality we are all facing.

There would be a short period of chaos. Then if no one started dropping nukes the enterprise of the world would start again?
I would guess people would still work,it may be a different type of work for many! I would guess my job (technology/banking) would be obsolete for a while, but busy planting/getting food and such :-) Farming and husbandry is a tough job '-) I would guess others would still have viable positions, but as humans of past would work based on the good old barter format until the world started again. The worst would be at the beginning, utter chaos and panic.
