Title: City-Data.com....do you post on there?
Post by: Coolyfett on December 28, 2010, 05:28:40 PM
I be on City-Data & there are good topics on there, but many MetroJacksonville.com people that should be there are not. What I mean is, we have a lot of diverse minds on MetroJacksonville.com that would make Jacksonvilles presence on City-Data.com. Being that it a forum that connects the whole country. My idea is a City-Data.com/Jacksonville link on MetroJacksonville.com to sorta connect the two forums & create a connection. The only reason I say that is mainly because I feel the type of members concentrated on MetroJacksonville.com would take the City-Data/Jacksonville forum to a more diverse level. Do you post on City-Data & interact with other cities?

www.city-data.com
There is a hot spot at the top that says "forums" after you look at their copious supply of data.

I post there on occasion. 90% of it is "I'm moving to Jacksonville, where should I live?" followed by "Riverside, Springfield or San Marco" responses. Not a whole lot else and any threads not relating to that topic tend to end up in arguments. (Arguments? On an internet forum????)

I like the people on there who will slam an entire city based on their bad choices and how that city sucks because "things aren't like they are back home"

Or the VS. threads. (Seattle VS Atlanta for example) Those can be very entertaining and they usually brings out the defensive natives who have an abundance of civic pride.

But there are a lot of helpful people on there as well, ones that know their city and offer suggestions as to which side of town, what neighborhoods you should live in based on what you're looking for.

Yeah like Jax vs ATL or Jax vs Tampa imo its really silly. Those topics also bring out people who want to Bash a certain city because they dont like it. Doesnt mean the next person wont.
